How to Design Your Scrapbooking Layouts

Scrapbooking is a terrific way to keep up with all of your old memories, anniversaries and other special occasions from your life. You can keep everything you can imagine in a scrapbook from paper items to trinkets and more. With a great layout and design, you can even create great-looking scrapbooks that are also well-organized. For those of you who are just getting started with scrapbooking, and even those that are not, here is how you can design your scrapbooking layouts to look their best every time.
First: Pick your page's theme
When you first start out, you need to choose the page's theme. Considering what you are putting on the page; use your pictures to guide your decision. Your theme can have things related to people, things, places or occasions from the photo, or it can simply have random words and colors of your choosing; for example, a picture taken in Paris may have a page with the Eiffel Tower in the background. Try to keep everything related in some way to the photos you put on the page.
Second: Place your photos
After choosing your page theme, place your photos on the page in a visually appealing way; remember to leave space for your other items.
Third: Add additional items
The last things involved with a scrapbook layout are the colors, textures and other embellishments you put on them. Choose your decorative items with the overall theme in mind and stick to it; keep the colors consistent throughout the page and make sure everything is properly aligned or grouped. Try to use the same items repeatedly instead of multiple different items that may throw off the theme entirely. Once you have everything in place, you can start gluing your masterpiece together.
