How to Scrapbook

The digital age has revolutionized the art of scrapbooking. In the past, you needed many cumbersome products such as glue, glitter, magazine cut-outs, markers and more in order to make one. It was a fun process, but it was messy and required extensive clean-up after each scrapbooking session. Now you can do an entire scrapbook online; it is faster and certainly much neater. However, even for this method there are still supplies you need to create a quality scrapbook.

1. First: Photo manipulation software

   The first thing you need is some type of photo manipulation software. Apple offers two products: iLife suite and iRemember, that both offer scrapbooking features; Adobe Photoshop Elements and Corel Paint Shop Pro are also software programs that you can use for this. These products are quite amazing; they allow you to color-correct photos, add colorful backgrounds and write text in many different fonts.

2. Second: A scanner, photos and other source material

   The next items you need to make an online scrapbook are a scanner and source materials. Source materials include photos, magazine cut-outs, ticket stubs, invitations, menus and any other paper materials. In order to get your images online, you need a scanner as well; this way you can scan all your images, load them into your computer and add them to your online scrapbook.

3. Third: Imagination

   Last, but not least, you need imagination to create an online scrapbook. First, decide upon a theme; is this a scrapbook for a wedding, for your child or for a friend's birthday party? Once you have picked a theme, put your imagination to use and start scrapbooking.
