How to Use the Cricut Scrapbooking Machine

The portable Cricut scrapbooking machine is used to create beautiful hand made design pieces for your scrapbook. With more than 4500 designs and the ability to cut through fabric, paper and many other items to create great looking designs, this is a great tool that you can use for scrapbooking. Read the basics on how to use it here.

  1. First: Set up your working space

Use a flat table surface to place the Cricut machine; make sure that there is at least 12 inches around the machine for the paper to move. The cord also allows for six feet of movement from the outlet so choose a space within this range.

  2. Second: Open the Cricut machine

Push the power button on the top right panel on the front-side of the machine to activate it. The LCD screen and feeder door also come open with this action.

  3. Third: Insert cartridge

Place your inlay keypad on top of the built-in one. Put the cartridge in the slot located in the front; the label should face outwards. The cartridge label and label on the keypad overlay should also match for it to work correctly.

  4. Fourth: Place paper on cutting mat and input settings

Align paper on the mat where it is marked for alignment in the corner and then smooth it out. Place your paper and mat within the blade feed section of the Cricut machine, set your blade according to the paper type and enter the design information using the keypad. You are now ready to use your Cricut machine to make great scrapbooking designs. Note that your cartridges come with specific design input information used to create the designs and blade adjustment information is found in the Cricut manual.
